An event technician keeps shows and events technically running: load-in and load-out, focusing, rehearsals and live operation. Everyday work includes riders and plans, coordination with direction and production, physical work on trusses and cable runs – often under time pressure with high demands on safety and teamwork.
- Plan, set up, calibrate and operate lighting, sound, video and stage technology during events.
- Check power supply, load distribution and safety systems; isolate and fix faults under time pressure.
- Secure rigging, trusses and loads according to plans and regulations; dismantle and transport equipment properly.
- Coordinate with direction, artist liaison, production and contractors; implement cue lists and technical riders.
- Follow occupational safety and event regulations – from PPE and fall protection to fire safety and escape routes.
